Total private sector credit in Australia was up 0.2 percent on month in February, the Reserve Bank of Australia said on Thursday - unchanged from the previous month but shy of forecasts for a gain of 0.3 percent.
On a yearly basis, total private sector credit added 3.4 percent - missing expectations for an increase of 3.5 percent after rising 3.6 percent in January.
Housing credit increased 0.4 percent on month following the 0.4 percent gain in January. On year, housing credit rose 4.4 percent.
Other personal credit added 0.1 percent on month after easing 0.1 percent in January. On year, other personal credit dipped 0.3 percent.
Business credit fell 0.2 percent on month after being unchanged in January. On year, business credit climbed 2.3 percent.
