The Reserve Bank of Australia is on Tuesday scheduled to conclude its monetary policy meeting and then announce its decision on interest rates, highlighting a modest day for Asia-Pacific economic activity. The RBA is widely expected to keep rates on hold at 3.00 percent.
The RBA also will provide March figures for its commodity price index; in February, they were down 7.2 percent on year to a score of 91.1.
Japan will announce March numbers for monetary base and February figures for labor cash earnings. The monetary base was up 15.0 percent on year in February, while labor cash earnings are expected to dip 0.2 percent on year after adding 0.1 percent in January.
Hong Kong will see February figures for retail sales; in January, sales were up an annual 10.4 percent.
