Switzerland's industrial production increased at a slower rate in the fourth quarter, preliminary data released by the Federal Statistical Office showed Monday.
Industrial production increased 1.7 percent on an annual basis in the fourth quarter, notably slower than the 2.5 percent gain seen in the preceding quarter.
Meanwhile, new orders received by Swiss industrial firms decreased 2.4 percent in the fourth quarter compared to the same period a year earlier, reversing the 1.4 percent gain seen in the third quarter.
Industrial turnover increased at a faster rate of 3.1 percent in the fourth quarter than 2.6 percent in the third quarter, data showed.
