Decline In Hungarian Industrial Output Eases As Estimated

Hungary's industrial production decreased at a slower rate in February, in line with the preliminary estimates, data released by the Central Statistical Office showed Friday.

Industrial production, on a working-day adjusted basis, decreased 1.1 percent year-on-year in February, which matched the flash estimates. The rate of fall was, however, slower than the 1.4 percent contraction seen in January.

Month-on-month industrial production edged up 0.3 percent in February, after growing 2.9 percent in the previous month. Output fell by 3.4 percent in the first two months of the year.

On an unadjusted basis, industrial production plunged 5.4 percent annually in February, following February's 1.4 percent decline.
