Scripps Networks Interactive Inc. (SNI) announced the acquisition of the Asian Food Channel, a food-focused pay television network based in Singapore that reaches about 8 million subscribers in 11 markets.
With the addition of the Asian Food Channel, Scripps Networks Interactive said it now has three lifestyle television brands that it is marketing in the region.
Scripps Networks Interactive noted that Derek Chang, who was appointed recently as its managing director of the Asia Pacific region, will oversee the management and integration of the Asian Food Channel, in addition to his responsibilities to oversee operations of the company's existing networks in the region.
