Boston Victims Dad Learns Daughter Died After Mix Up

The father of a girl who ran the Boston Marathon was incorrectly told that his daughter had been injured in the bombings, but later found out that due to hospital error in in the victim's identity, that she had actually died.

The Sun reports that William Campbell was first told his daughter Krystle who was at this week's Massachusetts marathon had survived one of the bombs that were detonated during the race.

He was told she was in surgery, but could lose a leg.

All of that changed once Krystle's grandmother, Lilian told multiple media sources, her granddaughter was at the marathon with her friend. Both girl's laid side by side on the ground after the explosives were set off.

Krystle and her friend went to the race to watch Karen's boyfriend run in hopes to get his picture at the finish line.

On their way to the hospital, their names somehow got mixed up.

Karen was seriously injured and Krystle died.

Lilian said when her son found out the news of his daughter's death, he was "devastated" and almost passed out, National Post reports.

An investigation remains underway until officials find out who the person/persons are responsible for killing three people and injuring hundreds. Recent findings claim the bombs were placed in bags near the finish line.
