Malaysia's unemployment rate dropped to 3 percent in February from 3.3 percent in January, the labor force survey from the Department of Statistics revealed Monday. The rate was down by 0.2 percentage points from 3.2 percent in February 2012.
On a seasonally adjusted basis, the jobless rate came in at 2.8 percent, down from 3.2 percent in the previous month.
The number of unemployed persons decreased to 398,600 persons in February from 444,500 persons in January, a decrease of 10,300 persons.
The labor force participation rate eased marginally to 65.3 percent from 65.6 percent in the prior month, the report showed.
