Sweden's unemployment rate increased more than economists expected in March, data released by Statistics Sweden showed Tuesday.
The unemployment rate increased to 8.8 percent in March from 8 percent in the same month a year earlier. Economists had forecast the jobless rate to rise to 8.5 percent.
There were around 448,000 unemployed persons in the country at the end of March, data showed.
On a seasonally adjusted basis, the number of unemployed was 428,000 in March, corresponding to an unemployment rate of 8.4 percent.
