Swedish Producer Prices Decline Further In March

Sweden's producer prices decreased further in March, with prices on both the export market and domestic market recording falls, data released by Statistics Sweden showed Thursday.

The producer price index fell 4.4 percent on an annual basis in March. Prices in the manufacturing sector were lower by 3.5 percent than in March 2012.

Contributing to the overall fall in prices, prices in the export market and import market fell by 7.2 percent and 7.4 percent respectively from a year earlier. At the same time, prices for domestic supply decreased by 4.4 percent.

Compared to February, output prices decreased by 1.1 percent. Prices in the export market and the import market dropped 1.9 percent and 3.2 percent respectively from a year earlier, driven mainly by a stronger Swedish krona, data showed.
