Alaska Air Group Inc. (ALK) Friday said its April traffic rose 8.5 percent on a combined basis, which included its subsidiaries, Alaska Airlines and Horizon Air.
Alaska Air Group's traffic, measured in revenue passenger miles, or RPMs, climbed 8.5 percent to 2.37 billion from last year's 2.19 billion, while capacity, measured in available seat miles, or ASMs, totaled 2.76 billion, up 8.9 percent from 2.53 billion a year before. Monthly passenger load factor slid by 0.3 points to 86.1 percent from 86.4 percent in April 2012.
These statistics include flights operated by Alaska and those under capacity purchase agreements, including Horizon, SkyWest and PenAir.
