Russia's annual inflation accelerated in April after easing significantly in the previous month, data released by the Federal Statistical Office showed Tuesday.
Inflation as per the consumer price index increased 7.2 percent on an annual basis in April, faster than the 7 percent growth seen in March.
Food prices rose 8.8 percent from a year earlier, and costs of non-food goods advanced 5.1 percent. Services were costlier by 8.1 percent than in April 2012.
Month-on-month, the consumer price index edged up a seasonally adjusted 0.5 percent in April, the agency said.
