Norway's Industrial Production Falls In March

Industrial production in Norway declined in March, but at a slower pace than in February, the latest figures from Statistics Norway showed Wednesday.

On a calendar-adjusted basis, output dropped 8.6 percent compared with a 10.7 percent fall in February and an 8.1 percent decrease in January.

Manufacturing output, on the other hand, grew 3.2 percent from a year earlier. Production in mining and quarrying sector dropped 9.1 percent.

Production and supply of electricity, gas and steam fell 3.2 percent from a year earlier.

Month-on-month, overall industrial production grew 1 percent on a seasonally adjusted basis. Manufacturing output was down 0.7 percent, more than 0.3 percent fall expected.
