The housing market in the United Kingdom gained strength in April.
Survey results from the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) showed Aprils house price balance as rising to plus-1 from minus-2 in March.
April's was the first positive reading for the balance since June 2010, when it was plus-5.
The balance represents the number of surveyors reporting rising house prices, minus the number reporting falling prices.
Surveyors reported healthy demand from potential buyers and an increase in sellers.
