Costco Wholesale Corp. (COST) reported third quarter net income of $1.04 per share Thursday morning, up from $0.88 per share last year. The consensus estimate was for EPS of $1.03. Total revenues rose to $24.08 billion from $22.32 billion last year, but came below analysts' estimate of $24.21 billion.
Costco gapped open higher Thursday and has risen sharply in early trade, currently up 2.45 at $115.40. The stock is now challenging the highs of the year, which was set on Tuesday.
