Retail Sales in the United Kingdom improved in May.
The British Retail Consortium reported Tuesday that overall retail sales were up 3.4 percent compared to one year earlier.
Same-store sales increased 1.8 percent on year.
The increase follows an on-year decline in same store sales of 2.2 percent in April.
"Customers are still price-conscious but responding well to good deals, especially for big ticket items," said BRC Director General Helen Dickinson. "But volatile economic conditions mean that this will remain a delicate balancing act for some time to come."
