Suzlon Group Bags Wind Turbine Orders From France

Suzlon Energy Ltd. said its Group-subsidiary REpower Systems had concluded two contracts with ABO Wind for the supply of 13 MM92 wind turbines for installing in two wind farms in Burgundy in France. The wind farms will generate a total output of more than 26 megawatts (MW).

The MM92 wind turbines with a hub height of 80 metres and a rated power of 2.05 MW will be utilized for these two wind farms" Clamecy wind farm with six wind turbines MM92 type, is located in la Nievre department. Seven turbines MM92 type are destined for the wind farms of Mige and Escamps, located in Yonne department. They will generate a total output of more than 26 MW for Burgundy region.

The company said the first machines would be delivered for fall 2013 and the commissioning is planned for winter 2013-14. Besides supply, REpower will also provide the full maintenance of the wind farms for 15 years.

REpower Managing Director Olivier Perot said, "We are delighted ABO Wind is continuing mutual business. These wind farms strengthen our position in Burgundy region which is very dynamic in wind energy. Moreover, our large product range is perfectly adapted to different wind conditions over French territories."

ABO Wind Manager in Toulouse Patrick Bessiere emphasized, "Both wind farms in Burgundy are consequently realizing the idea of citizen participation. Two turbines of the project Mige-Escamps will be owned by ABO Invest, held by 20 percent of its shares by ABO Wind and the remaining 80 percent by more than 2,000 citizens. Te company already operates seven wind farms in France, Germany and Ireland."

He added, "ABO Invest will furthermore acquire 65 percent of the wind farm Clamecy. The remaining 35 percent are to be held by a local corporation consisting of municipalities as well as citizens and the local energy utility Intercommunal d'Energies d'Equipement et d'Environnement de la Nievre (SIEEEN)."

At the BSE, Suzlon Energy shares are currently trading at a new low of Rs.10.65, up 0.66 percent from the previous close.
