AMR Corp. (AAMRQ.PK), the parent company of American Airlines, Inc., and US Airways Group, Inc. (LCC) announced the senior leadership team responsible for guiding the new American Airlines after the closing of the companies' merger.
The expected merger between AMR Corp. and US Airways will create the new American Airlines, a premier global carrier. The merger is subject to regulatory approvals.
Tom Horton will serve as Chairman of the Board of the new American Airlines. Doug Parker will serve as Chief Executive Officer and a member of the Board.
The senior leadership team also includes: Scott Kirby as President; Elise Eberwein as Executive Vice President, People and Communications; Beverly Goulet as Chief Integration Officer; Stephen Johnson as Executive Vice President, Corporate Affairs; Maya Leibman as Chief Information Officer; and William Ris as Senior Vice President, Government Affairs.
Derek Kerr will be appointed as Chief Financial Officer. Robert Isom will serve as Chief Operating Officer and Chief Executive Officer of US Airways Inc. post-close.
Dan Garton will step down as President and Chief Executive Officer of American Eagle Airlines later this year. A successor will be named prior to Garton's departure, the companies said.
AMR and US Airways also announced the members of the Board of the combined company after the closing of the companies' merger.
