India CPI Inflation Slows In May

Consumer price inflation in India eased slightly in May, the latest figures from the Central Statistics Office showed Wednesday.

The consumer price index rose 9.31 percent in May from a year earlier compared with a 9.39 percent increase in April.

The price index for food and beverages climbed 10.65 percent year-on-year in May. Costs of fuel and light increased 8.55 percent annually.
