Spain June Annual Inflation Accelerates

Spain's harmonized inflation rose to 2.2 percent in June from 1.8 percent in May, flash estimate issued by the statistical office INE showed Thursday.

Similarly, consumer price inflation accelerated to 2.1 percent from 1.7 percent a month ago. The inflation rate was pushed up by rise in fuel and lubricant cost as compared to the drop registered in June 2012.

Month-on-month, the harmonized index of consumer prices edged up 0.1 percent, and consumer prices rose 0.2 percent.
