South Africa's wholesale sales rose for the second straight month in May, data released by Statistics South Africa revealed
on Thursday.
Wholesale sales at constant prices grew an unadjusted 7.7 percent year-on-year, following an 8.4 percent gain in April. In March, sales declined 0.5 percent.
Month-on-month, wholesales sales increased a seasonally adjusted 0.6 percent in May, after a 10.1 percent rebound in the previous month.
In the three months ended May, sales were higher by 0.6 percent from the previous three months.
