German import price index for June is due at 2:00 am ET Friday. Ahead of the data, the euro showed mixed trading against other major currencies. While the euro held steady against the pound and the greenback, it fell against the franc and the yen.
As of 1:55 am ET, the euro was worth 1.3277 against the greenback, 131.22 against the yen, 0.8628 against the pound and 1.2339 against the franc.
