Swedish telecommunications equipments maker Ericsson AB (ERIC) said that it has completed the acquisition of software giant Microsoft Corp.'s (MSFT) Mediaroom business and TV solution.
Mediaroom is based in Mountain View, California, and is comprised of more than 400 people worldwide. The former Mediaroom business unit, including staff, will be integrated into the Ericsson group under the Business Unit Support Solutions, and will be called Ericsson Mediaroom as of today, Ericsson said.
In April 2013, Ericsson had said it entered into an agreement to purchase Microsoft's Mediaroom business.
Separately, Ericsson announced the completion of its acquisition of Telcocell in North America.
Ericsson said it welcomes approximately 200 skilled consulting and systems integration professionals who will be integrated into Ericsson in North America over the coming months and will work under the Ericsson brand as of September 3, 2013.
In July 2013, Ericsson had said that it entered into an agreement to acquire the entire business of Telcocell, a Canada-based consulting and systems integration company specializing in Business Support Systems, as well as its subsidiaries.
