Apple Nex-Gen MacBook Pro To Be Equipped With IGZO Display

Apple is reportedly revamping its MacBook Pro family with new Haswell processors and a new IGZO display from Sharp, which offers a massive 3,840 x 2,160 pixel resolution.

Sharp's IGZO (Indium Gallium Zinc Oxide) is now used in many display devices as an alternative to silicon. Catering specially for power users, the display boots faster and uses less power as compared to LCD displays.

To top it, the MacBook Pro 2013 will have an enhanced GPU, faster Wi-Fi, longer battery life and faster storage options. However, these features are already available in the recently released MacBook Air and iMac models.

The new MacBook Pro will also feature Apple's new OS X Maverick operating system which is scheduled to be launched on October 22, alongside iPad Mini 2 and iPad 5.

Meanwhile, Sharp has already revealed in a statement that mass production of the panels will commence by next February.

It is also reported that Apple is planning a 12-inch Retina MacBook which will have an entirely different design, compared to other MacBooks. There is ample speculation that Apple will come out with a lower-cost iMac and a sixth-generation iPad with 9.7-inch display.
