With the federal government back up and running, the Labor Department has announced the rescheduled release dates for some key economic reports that were delayed by the shutdown.
The Labor Department said the closely watched monthly jobs report for September will be released at 8:30 am ET on Tuesday, October 22nd. The report was originally scheduled for release on October 4th.
Additionally, the monthly jobs report for October, which was originally scheduled to be released on November 1st, has been pushed back until November 8th.
The monthly jobs reports include important data on the number of unemployed persons, the unemployment rate, and non-farm payroll employment.
The Labor Department also said its report on consumer price inflation in the month of September will be released on October 30th.
The consumer price index is a measure of the average change over time in the prices paid by urban consumers for a market basket of consumer goods and services.
An announcement regarding the release of other reports that were delayed by the government shutdown will be made later this month, the Labor Department said.
