Turkey October Tourist Arrivals Rise At Faster Pace

Tourist arrivals in Turkey increased at a faster pace in October than in the previous month, data published by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism revealed Friday.

The number of foreign tourists visiting the country increased 11.52 percent year-on-year to around 3.4 million in October. This followed a 6.88 percent growth in September and a 10.64 percent rise in August. As much as 10.08 percent of all the visitors was excursionists.

The number of visitors from Europe advanced 4.17 percent annually, and the number of Africans was higher by 4.07 percent. There was a 49.08 percent growth in visitor arrivals from the Americas during the month.

During the January-October period, around 31.76 million foreign tourists visited Turkey, which was higher by 10.24 percent than in the corresponding period of last year. Excursionists accounted for 6.07 percent of the total visitors.
