Japan November Leading Index Rises As Expected

Japan's leading economic index increased notably in November from the previous month, and the score matched economists expectations, latest data revealed Friday.

The leading index advanced to 110.8 in November from 109.8 in October, the Cabinet Office said. The November reading matched economists' expectations.

At the same time, the coincident economic index, which measures the current situation, moved up to 110.5 from 110.4 in October.

The lagging index, a measure of the past performance of the economy, advanced to 114.7 in November from 112.9 a month earlier, data showed.
