B2Gold Corp. (BTO.TO, BTG) reported Tuesday that its fourth-quarter gold revenue surged 95 percent to $138 million from last year's $70.8 million.
The company sold 106,185 ounces of gold at an average price of $1,300 per ounce, compared to sales of 41,627 ounces at an average price of $1,700 per ounce a year ago.
The company noted that the significant increase in revenue, despite a 24 percent decrease in the gold price, was driven by gold production from the company's Masbate Mine as well as increased production from the Nicaraguan operations.
Quarterly gold production of 105,577 ounces surged 138 percent from last year.
Looking ahead, B2Gold projects another record year for gold production in 2014. company-wide production in 2014 from the Masbate, La Libertad and Limon Mines is expected to be in the range of 395,000 to 420,000 ounces of gold, an increase of approximately 8 percent to 15 percent over 2013 attributable production.
