Spain's producer prices logged the biggest annual fall in more than four years in January, statistical office INE said on Tuesday.
Industrial producer prices dropped 1.8 percent year-on-year, following a 0.6 percent gain in December. It was the biggest fall since October 2009, when prices declined 4.3 percent.
Producer prices in the energy sector declined 3.3 percent, and those in the consumer goods manufacturing dropped 0.7 percent. Prices in capital goods production shrunk 0.1 percent, while those in intermediate goods manufacturing decreased 2.6 percent.
Month-on-month, producer prices fell 1.3 percent in January, after a 1.1 percent rise in December. It was the largest monthly fall since March last year.
