Greece's unemployment rate dropped marginally in December, data released by the Hellenic Statistical Authority revealed Thursday.
The seasonally adjusted unemployment rate fell to 27.5 percent from revised 27.6 percent in the prior month. The November rate was revised down from 28 percent.
The jobless rate was at a record-high in September, when the rate was 27.8 percent. Greece has the highest unemployment rate in the euro area.
Unemployed increased by 48,551 persons compared with December 2012 and decreased by 10,864 persons from November. The number of unemployed totaled 1.34 million.
The youth unemployment rate declined to 55.5 percent in December from 57.1 percent in the same period of last year.
