Estonia's dwelling prices registered its biggest increase in the last three years in 2013, Statistics Estonia said Thursday.
In 2013, the dwelling price index rose 10.7 percent compared to the average of the previous year. Prices were up 7.3 percent in 2012 and 8.5 percent in 2011.
Compared to 2012, prices of apartments increased 13.3 percent and the prices of houses by 4.1 percent.
In the fourth quarter of 2013, dwelling prices surged 15.6 percent annually, within which prices of apartments increased 20.2 percent and that of houses by 4.9 percent.
On a quarterly basis, the dwelling price index gained 2.6 percent, as a slight 0.1 percent drop in house prices was offset by a 3.7 percent rise in apartment prices.
Data released in February showed that the purchase and sale of properties in the real estate market increased 15 percent in 2013, mainly driven by demand for apartments.
