Greece's harmonized index of consumer prices, or HICP, declined at a faster than expected pace in September, figures from the Hellenic Statistical Authority showed Thursday.
The HICP dropped 1.1 percent year-on-year in September, which is faster than the 0.2 percent decline in August and the 0.3 percent drop expected by economists.
This marked the fastest decline since June.
On a monthly basis, the HICP rose 1.6 percent in September after the 1.1 percent fall in the previous month.
The overall consumer prices declined 0.8 percent year-on-year in September following August's 0.3 percent fall. Economists had forecast consumer prices to decline at the stable rate of 0.3 percent.
