Jarden Corp. (JAH) Thursday reported higher profit for the third quarter, as net sales grew 19.0 percent year-over-year.
The company's net income rose to $108.6 million or $0.87 per share from $94.9 million or $0.85 per share for the same period in 2013.
Excluding certain items, the group earned $1.17 per share. On average, 16 analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to report profit per share of $1.16 for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.
Quarterly sales advanced to $2.14 billion from $1.8 billion a year ago. Analysts expected revenue of $2.09 billion.
