Greece's EU measure of inflation declined at the fastest pace in five months during October, figures from the Hellenic Statistical Authority revealed Monday.
The harmonized index of consumer prices fell 1.8 percent annually after a 1.1 percent drop in September. Economists had forecast a 1 percent decline.
The latest fall was the worst since May, when prices dropped 2.1 percent.
On a monthly basis, the HICP fell 0.9 percent following a 1.6 percent gain in September.
The consumer price index, or CPI, decreased 1.7 percent annually in October after a 0.8 percent fall in the previous month. Economists were looking for a 0.9 percent decline.
Month-on-month, consumer prices dropped 0.9 percent in October following a 2.1 percent gain in September.
