Australia New Motor Vehicles Sales Dip 0.6% In November

The total number of new motor vehicle sales in Australia was down a seasonally adjusted 0.6 percent on month in November, the Australian Bureau of Statistics said on Monday, coming in at 91,869.

That follows the 1.6 percent decline in October.

On a yearly basis, new motor vehicle sales dropped 3.8 percent after easing 0.5 percent in the previous month.

By category, sales of passenger vehicles fell 1.1 percent, while other vehicles were down 2.3 percent and sports utility vehicles climbed 1.3 percent.

By region, Western Australia had the largest decrease (2.2 percent) followed by New South Wales (2.0 percent) and the Northern Territory (1.2 percent). Victoria and the Australian Capital Territory both saw an increase of 1.7 percent.
