Japan Leading Index Falls To Lowest Since Early 2013

Japan's leading index, which measures the future economic activity, marked its lowest score in nearly two years in November, preliminary figures from the Cabinet Office showed Friday.

The leading index dropped to 103.8 in November from 104.5 in the previous month. This was the lowest score since January 2013, when the reading was at 102.8.

The coincident index that measures current economic activity dropped by 1.0 points to 108.9 in November.

At the same time, the lagging index improved to 119.9 in November from 118.6 in October. It was the highest score since November 2008, when the figure moved up to 121.0.
