WSJ: Super-Fast Google Fiber Internet Coming To Four More U.S. Cities

Google's 1-gigabit fiber network will arrive in Atlanta, Charlotte, N.C., Raleigh-Durham, N.C. and Nashville, Tenn., according to The Wall Street Journal.

For now, Google has passed over Salt Lake City, San Antonio, Phoenix, Portland, Ore. and San Jose, Calif., cities the company said earlier last year were considered for the upgrade.

The ultra-high speed Google Fiber is currently offered in Kansas City, Austin, Texas and Provo, Utah.

The service is up to ten times faster but costs quite a bit more than normal speeds.

A WSJ survey from October showed that in six low-income Kansas City neighborhoods, just 10% of residents subscribe to Google's Fiber service.
