Ukraine's Parliament Passes Bill To Let Foreign Militaries For Joint Drills

The Ukrainian Parliament has approved a bill allowing foreign troops into the country to participate in a number of joint military exercises in 2015.

305 members of the 450-member Parliament, known as Verkhovna Rada, voted in favor of the bill on Tuesday, Ukraine's Ministry of Defense said.

Ukraine is planning to hold three joint exercises with US troops. They are codenamed Fearless Guardian 2015 in Lviv, Sea Breeze 2015 in Black Sea, and Saber Guardian/Rapid Trident 2015 in Lviv. Ukraine will also hold two joint drills with Poland - Secure Skies 2015 at Ukrainian airfields, and Law and Order 2015 - in Lviv.

The bill says "The participation of Ukrainian units and other military formations in multinational military exercises meets national interests, legislation and international liabilities of Ukraine".
