Germany's jobless rate fell to a record low in March, the Federal Labor Agency reported Tuesday.
The unemployment rate dropped to a seasonally adjusted 6.4 percent in March from 6.5 percent in February. The rate came in line with economists' expectations.
The number of people out of work declined by seasonally adjusted 15,000, which was bigger than an expected fall of 12,000.
Earlier in the day, data from Destatis showed that the jobless rate remained unchanged at 4.8 percent in February. A year ago, the unemployment rate was 5.1 percent. There were 2.21 million unemployed in February, up by around 150,000 or 7.3 percent.
