Civitas Solutions Plans To Discontinue Services To At-Risk Youth In Illinois

Civitas Solutions Inc. (CIVI) announced that it decided to discontinue services to at-risk youth in the state of Illinois by June 30, 2015.

Last month, Civitas informed the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS) of this decision and, since that time, Civitas operations have been working closely with DCFS to execute a comprehensive transition plan. This action will have no impact on Civitas' services in Illinois for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities and those recovering from brain injuries.

As of February 2015, Civitas was serving approximately 475 children and adolescents in Illinois, including nearly 400 in its foster care programs. Revenues for the 12 months ended February 28, 2015 were approximately $9.4 million. Fiscal year 2015 year-to-date through February, Civitas' Illinois programs for at-risk youth did not contribute to the Company's profitability.

Civitas said it regularly reviews its operations to ensure that all services remain a good strategic fit, financially sustainable, and capable of ensuring consistently positive outcomes for its stakeholders.
