J&J Snack Foods Corp (JJSF) on Monday reported second-quarter net earnings of $14.6 million or $0.78 per share compared with $13.5 million or $0.72 per share last year.
Revenues for the quarter were up 10% at $225 million compared with $205.3 million in the prior year.
Analysts polled by Thomson Reuters estimated earnings of $0.74 per share on revenues of $218 million for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.
"Our sales and earnings improvement this quarter was driven by an outstanding performance by our ICEE business," said CEO Gerald Shreiber.
