Bank Of France Forecasts GDP To Grow 0.3% In Q2

The French economy will grow 0.3 percent in the second quarter, according to the monthly index of business activity released by the Bank of France.

The business confidence index in manufacturing rose to 98 in April, in line with expectations, from 97 in March.

Industrial production gained further ground and deliveries firmed more significantly in April. Business leaders expect production to post further growth in May.

Similarly, the services confidence index edged up to 95 in April from 94 in March. Business leaders see a continued improvement in services activity in May.

The confidence index for the construction sector came in at 92, up from 91 in March. But leaders expect a slight drop in activity in May.

In the Spring Forecast, the European Commission said the second-largest Eurozone economy is likely to grow 1.1 percent this year and 1.7 percent in 2016.
