At 7:45 am ET Wednesday, the European Central Bank is slated to announce its interest rate decision. The bank is expected to keep its refinancing rate unchanged at 0.05 percent.
The euro held steady against its major rivals ahead of the announcement.
The euro was quoted at 1.1118 against the greenback, 0.7271 against the pound, 138.32 against the yen and 1.0408 against the franc at 7:40 am ET.
