An update by a Syrian monitoring group says the death toll in the more than four years-old conflict in Syria has risen to more than 320,000.
The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights says it has documented the death of 230618 persons since 2011 March 18, when the first of the anti-government protesters was killed in Daraa.
The break-up of the casualties are as follows: 108086 civilians, including 11493 children and 7371 women; 38592 rebel and Islamic fighters; 2524 defected soldiers and officers; 31247 Arab, European, Asian, American and Australian fighters from IS, al-Nusra Front, Junoud al-Sham battalion, Jund Al-Aqsa battalion, Jund al-Sham Movement and al-Khadra' battalion; 49106 Syrian Government troops; 32533 combatants from Popular Defense Committees, National Defense Forces, al Shabiha, pro-regime informers and the 'Syrian resistance to liberate the Sanjak of Alexandretta'; 2844 pro- regime Shia militiamen from Arab and Asian nationalities, Al Quds Al Felastini Brigade and other pro-regime militiamen from different Arab nationalities; 838 fighters from Hezbollah; and 3191 unidentified people.
SOHR believes the real number is estimated to be 90,000 more than what it documented.
The numbers do not include thousands of people who disappeared during raids by the Assad regime forces, and more than 7000 regular soldiers and pro-regime militants and about 2000 "regime supporters" captured by IS, Islamic fighters, Al-Nusra front, rebel and Islamic battalions for "dealing with the regime".
The fate of more than 1500 fighters from the YPG, IS, al-Nusra Front, Islamic battalions and rebel battalions who were kidnapped during clashes are not known.
Also, the whereabouts of 4000 civilians and fighters from Shaitaat tribe who were kidnapped by the Islamic State in the province of Deir Ezzor is unknown.
More than 20000 protesters are detained in Syrian Government prisons, according to SOHR.
The group says the silence of the international community on the war crimes and crimes against humanity committed by all sides in Syria encourages the criminals to kill more and more Syrian people because they have not found anyone who deters them from continuing their crimes.
The prolonged fighting has wounded more than 1500000 people, some of whom with permanent disabilities, left hundreds of thousands children without parents, displaced more than half of the Syrian population and destroyed private and public properties as well as many cultural heritage sites of the Middle East Asian country.
SOHR says it lost hope in an international community that is incapable and unwilling to put an end to the ongoing atrocities in Syria. The Syrian Observatory called upon "all sides that claim to defend the freedoms of the people and their rights to take a serious and responsible stance in order to end the bloodshed in Syria amid the increasing violence and the escalating number of casualties."
