The services sector in New Zealand continued to expand in May, and at an accelerated pace, the latest survey from Business NZ showed on Monday with a Performance of Services Index score of 58.0.
That's up from 56.5 in April, and it moves further above the boom-or-bust level of 50 that separates expansion from contraction.
The May reading continues a run of positive results dating back to October 2009, and it also marks a 10-month high.
Among the individual components, sales and new orders expanded, along with employment and inventories. The component for supplier deliveries contracted.
