Netflix May Soon Produce Original Anime, Bollywood Show

In a move to overcome the dearth of quality content, on-demand Internet streaming media provider Netflix is planning to create Bollywood-style entertainment and anime shows. The company is expected to spend $5 billion in 2016 for content.

Speaking at DealBook conference in New York, Reed Hastings, chief executive of Netflix said the company is planning to do more original shows like Aziz Ansari's "Master of None."

Netflix chief said entertainment has an amazing capacity, and great content can find great viewers. He believes Internet television will be stable in the next years and will get updated constantly while the linear tv is on a decline.

Disagreeing with FX networks CEO John Landgraf's view that there is "too much television," Hastings said there is not nearly enough content.

Replying to a question, Hastings said sports is not something that Netflix plans to spend time on and his focus is on global movies and TV shows.
