Germany's producer prices declined at a faster-than-expected pace in November, data from Destatis showed Monday.
The producer price index fell 2.5 percent year-over-year in November, which was worse than the 2.3 percent drop in the prior month.
Economists had expected a 2.4 percent decrease for the month. Producer prices have been falling since August 2013.
Excluding energy, producer prices slid 0.7 percent annually and by 0.2 percent monthly in November.
Energy prices alone plunged 7.1 percent in November from a year ago, largely due to cheaper prices of petroleum products that slumped by 14.7 percent.
Prices in the intermediate goods sector dipped 2.2 percent and that for consumer goods sector edged down by 0.1 percent. At the same time, durable consumer goods sector logged an increase of 1.5 percent.
On a monthly basis, producer prices dropped 0.2 percent in November, slower than previous month's 0.4 percent decline. The expected rate of fall was 0.1 percent.
