Eurozone House Prices Rise Further In Q3

Eurozone house prices grew for the third consecutive quarter in the three months ended September, though at a slower pace than in the previous quarter, preliminary figures from Eurostat showed Wednesday.

House prices rose 1.0 percent quarter-on-quarter in the third quarter, after a 1.8 percent climb in the previous three-month period.

On an annual basis, house prices increased at a faster pace of 2.3 percent in the September quarter, following a 1.6 percent spike in the second quarter.

House prices in the EU went up 1.3 percent quarterly in the third quarter and climbed 3.1 percent from the corresponding period a year ago.

Among the EU member states, the highest quarterly increases were observed in Malta, Ireland, Austria, Sweden and the United Kingdom, while the biggest falls were reported in Hungary, Slovenia and Estonia.
