Australia Job Ads Climb 1.0% In January - ANZ

The total number of job ads in Australia was up 1.0 percent on month in January, the latest report from ANZ Bank revealed on Monday.

That follows the 0.1 percent decline in December.

Individually, internet job postings gained 1.1 percent on month, while newspaper ads dropped 3.2 percent.

On a yearly basis, total job ads were up 10.8 percent.

"Overall we see the job ads series, in conjunction with other leading indicators of labor demand, as consistent with further moderate employment gains in early 2016, enough at least to keep the unemployment rate stable," said ANZ Chief Economist Warren Hogan.
