Capital spending in Australia was up a seasonally adjusted 0.8 percent on quarter in the fourth quarter of 2015, the Australian Bureau of Statistics said on Thursday - coming in at A$31.941 billion.
That topped forecasts for a decline of 3.0 percent following the 9.2 percent fall in the third quarter.
Spending for buildings and structures gained 1.2 percent in Q4, while spending for equipment, plants and machinery added 0.1 percent.
On a yearly basis, capex tumbled 16.4 percent.
