Indonesia's exports declined less than expected in February, data from the Central Statistics Agency revealed Tuesday.
Exports decreased 7.18 percent year-on-year in February, smaller than an expected 14.9 percent fall.
Imports logged a double-digit decline of 11.71 percent in February, which was slightly bigger than an expected decrease of 11.46 percent.
Consequently, the trade surplus increased to $1.14 billion compared to a $92 million surplus forecast by economists.
On a monthly basis, exports climbed 7.8 percent, while imports dropped 2.91 percent.
